We DO have egg laying chickens

I don't know about you.. but I pretty much go into hibernation mode December - February and most of March.  I have learned to embrace that part of me and know that I will want to do very little during these dreary months.  SOOOOOOO, I really have not been that concerned when our chickens decided to take a hiatus from the business of laying eggs. I mean I understand that it is tough to be a woman after all, and we all need a break. :)
BUT yesterday it all came to light.  Our chicken, Daphne, HAD been laying in hiding.  You see chickens have an innate desire to sit on their eggs until they hatch. In some this is more powerful than in others.  WELL.. it turns out that Daph had been carefully tending 14.. yes, 14! eggs under our shed.
Sigh.. I do feel like a bit of a nest robber today, but well.. what can I say.  Ahh.. never a dull moment here on Cooper St. Farm!
