Squeezing the last bit out of summer!

Well, it is true Summer '08 has come to an end. Okay, Okay so the official end of summer isn't until the 22nd of September, but once school has started everything takes on a different flavor.
We were not about to let summer end without a flurry of events. From the State Fair to Symphony in the Park to The Sound of Music in the park, and lest Labor Day feel left out we are attending an outdoor production of a Shakespeare play at Reed College today! Whew..

Okay, so I MUST say a word about the Graviton ride! (I think that is what we called it in my youth.) I have never really been the type of person who enjoyed crazy fair rides, but THIS one hold particular memories for me. When I was around 10 or 11, (maybe older, but that would be embarrassing so let's go with 10 or 11.) my cousins Kim and Cindy persuaded me to go on this ride. "It goes so fast that you will not feel a thing!) Okay, BIG fat lie! I got on the ride, and put my body on the wall with a cousin on my left and right and then the ride started. I quickly grabbed a hand from each of my cousins and proceeded to scream the ENTIRE time, "Dear Jesus, I am going to die!" (Yes, my tendency toward drama started young.) Needless to say, I got off of the ride (I did survive) and swore that I would never ride it again. Of course, it probably goes without saying that Paige totally loved it and went on it about 5 times!

THIS was Paige's freaky ride. Yes, my sweet girl went on the Kamikaze! She did fine until it went really high and upside down. She walked off the ride with a "I will never go on that ride again!" Somehow I don't think that her resolve will stick. :)

Paige and her friend Kiley loved this ride. Flying high in the air. We had never attended the State fair before. What fun!
