Okay... EVERYBODY seems to have a blog. So... who am I to be left out? No, seriously.. I am just not very good about keeping in touch with everyone these days. So, here you are. I hope that you will enjoy the postings as much as I enjoy reflecting all that is happening in my life.
A brief summary..
As most of you know, Paige has been with me since January 2006. She has changed SO much over the almost two years time that she has been in my home. I can honestly say that I have changed as well. It is such a blessing to see life through the eyes of a child. Especially a child who has seen life at some of its ugliest. Her ability to laugh and create constantly amazes me. She is now in 3rd Grade at a new Waldorf charter school that started this year. We are both SO excited about her participation in this school. She is also in her second year of Brownies, and about to go to her first Girl Scouts camp. Things are certainly hopping for this 8 year old!
I have also been very blessed by my relationship with Patrick over the past few months. His constant support even in the uncertainty over the last year has been amazing! Patrick and I met through our dear friend Jodie after she invited him to the Christmas dinner that I hosted last year. It has been one of my true joys to see him pour into Paige in ways that I would never even think of. He also helps to constantly remind me to take time for myself. Something that I am not always very good at.
And me... I am learning the fine art of being a working mom. A juggling act if there ever was one. I am also taking a Human Development class at Portland Community College this fall. Yes, it is true...I have my eyes set on Grad school. Patrick has been very instrumental in encouraging me in this dream that is never far from my mind. I am also doing tons of reading lately. It has been so fun to delve into some areas that have interested me for awhile. I have been looking into how art and creativity can be used in the healing of hurt children. I have also been enjoying a few great novels.
Over all, it has been a great year so far. Certainly not without bumps, but I have been amazed by God's faithfulness through it all.
I will be sure to post here as often as I can, and I will try to refrain from being too wordy!
Thank you for your friendship.
Sincerely,
Krys

Krys,
So great to hear from you and see the pictures! You have another Patrick in your life! Very cool. Glad to hear Paige is doing so well...what a darling girl. I think of you often since we drive past your street every time we go to church. Did I ever tell you that I know Angelica Nacarelli? She's my BSF discussion leader for the 3rd year in a row. :) Do you happen to know Carissa Marquis from church? I just found out she attends your church...she's the counselor at Jarrison's school. She's about our age, long blond hair, and pg with her first baby.
Keep up the blog! It's great!! Maybe you three could come over for dinner sometime and our Patricks could meet! The kids would have a great time playing together!
Love you...Lisa
I think it's great that you have a blog even if Joyce thinks it's silly. I tried to defend it yesterday, but Joyce would have none of it.
