I had an interesting comment made to me when after I first set up this blog. "What's so extraordinary about your life that you need a blog?" That comment really made me think. Yes, it is true that my life isn't on the front pages of the paper, of course given the news headlines I am not sure that is a bad things. :) So, one could say that it is "just" an ordinary life. As I thought about it, however, it seems to me that that is exactly where the extraordinary is found. If we sit around waiting for something amazing to happen before we share with others, then chances are that we will simply spend our lives waiting. Not many of us will have the chance to travel the world... not many of us will publish the next great American novel...BUT we all have the chance to run into people everyday. To me, that is pretty extraordinary.
So, what happened this week that was pretty extraordinary? I had the chance to volunteer in my daughter's classroom and in that moment to see her face beam with pride as I was introduced to her class as Paige's mom! I had the chance to communicate with someone I love rather than walking away from misunderstanding. I had the opportunity to snuggle down with my eight year old and watch a movie about the power of love.
Will these events make me famous? Probably not, but they provide beauty that if missed is nothing short of tragedy.
Perhaps that is the lesson, we all need to slow down and look for those extraordinary moments rather than waiting for them!
I hope that you are having a wonderful, extraordinary day!
Love,
Krys

What a wonderful thought Krys. It brought tears to my eyes, the story of you being introduced as Paige's Mom. Wow, that is truly amazing!
Another thought on an extraordinary life:
The dictionary defines extraordinary as this-1)going beyond what is usual, regular, or customary, and 2)employed for or sent on a special function or service. Hmmm, what a wonderful thought for us all. My life before I truly knew Christ was not worth sharing with others. But the more I have grown to know Him, the more my life has gone beyond usual, regular or customary. It's pretty exciting to also think that we're employed for or sent on a special function for Christ...to go and make disciples of all nations.
What a perfect spot, on a blog, to share the joys of your life. These joys, at the root, stem from the love of your Savior.
I think that is pretty extraordinary!
IHS,
Cammie
